Madrid plane crash site at Madrid Barajas Int. Airport
Today, a plane from Spanairs fleet, a McDonnell-Douglas MD-82 swerved off the runway during take-off from Madrid Barajas Int. Airport and crashed into a nearby wood, turning everything into a giant fire. Some 153 were believed dead and only 19 people survived the midafternoon crash, one of the worse crashes in air traffic history.
